What DishCopy does

You photograph a supermarket or boxed meal, and we produce a recipe you can cook yourself. The recipe is generated by an AI model reading your photos.

A copy is a reconstruction

This is the most important thing on this page. A packaged meal lists what a factory used, in an order and a form no kitchen can reproduce. We turn that into ingredients you can buy and steps you can follow — which means we interpret, substitute and estimate.

So: a copy will not match the original exactly, quantities are estimates, and nutrition figures are estimates. Where the app was unsure it says so, and you should treat those notes as real.

Allergies and dietary needs

Do not rely on a copy to tell you what is in a product. If you or someone you cook for has an allergy or intolerance, read the original packaging, every time. A reconstruction can miss an ingredient that was on the label, and can add one that was not.

The same goes for anything medical or religious — halal, kosher, coeliac, an elimination diet. Check the source, not the copy.

Your account

One account per person, signed in with your own e-mail address. Keep access to that mailbox: it is the only way in.

Free and Plus

The free plan includes three copies per calendar month, resetting on the first, room for 50 saved recipes, and shows advertising. DishCopy Plus includes a hundred copies a month, room for far more recipes, and no advertising. Cloud backup is on every plan — your recipes are never only on one phone.

Writing your own recipes, cooking mode, export and PDF are unlimited on both plans.

Paying for Plus

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple's App Store or Google Play, not by us. They handle the payment, the renewal and the refund — so cancellations and refunds follow their rules and are done in their settings, not ours.

Your recipes are yours

What you make with DishCopy belongs to you. Export it whenever you like; the file is plain and readable and you do not need us to open it. We do not publish your recipes or show them to anyone else.

Fair use

Do not use DishCopy to break the law, to copy things that are not food, or to hammer the service automatically. We may suspend an account that does, and we will tell you why.

When things go wrong

We do our best to keep the service running and the copies good, but we cannot promise either is perfect. DishCopy is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for a dish that did not work out, and our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem.

Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.

Ending it

Delete your account in Settings whenever you like — it takes effect immediately. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why.

If you installed DishCopy from the App Store

Apple requires a few things to be said plainly by anyone selling a subscription through the App Store. They apply only if you got the app from Apple; if you installed it from Google Play, skip this section.

This agreement is between you and us — not between you and Apple. We are responsible for DishCopy and everything in it. Apple is not.

What you get is a personal, non-transferable licence to run DishCopy on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, under the Usage Rules in Apple's App Store Terms of Service. You may use it on other devices linked to your account where those rules allow it.

Support is ours. If something is broken or you have a question, write to [email protected] — Apple has no obligation to help you with this app, and asking them will only send you back to us.

The same goes for anything going wrong with the app itself: any claim about it — that it does not work, that it breaks a law or a regulation, that it infringes someone's intellectual property, or anything a consumer-protection rule covers — is ours to answer, not Apple's. If DishCopy fails to be what we said it is, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund what you paid for it. Beyond that refund, and as far as the law allows, Apple has no warranty obligation to you at all.

You confirm that you are not in a country under a US embargo or designated by the US government as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any US list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Where DishCopy relies on someone else's service, you have to keep to their terms as well as ours.

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and once you accept it Apple has the right to enforce it against you.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by Dutch law, and disputes go to the Dutch courts, unless consumer law where you live says otherwise. DishCopy is operated from Madame Curiestraat 17, 2171 TW Sassenheim, the Netherlands, by TranspaClean B.V. (Chamber of Commerce number 69870691) and TecWeb B.V. (Chamber of Commerce number 69862109).
